Pharmacogenomics of Clopidogrel Resistance in Acute Coronary Syndromes: Practical Implementation of CYP2C19 Genotype-Guided Antiplatelet Therapy
Prof. Jun Wei Chen, PhD; Dr. Tariq H. Mansoor, MD; Clara Lindqvist, PharmD
Abstract
Evidence-based synthesis and decision pathways for implementing point-of-care and laboratory CYP2C19 genotype testing to optimize antiplatelet selection in post-PCI patients.
Abstract
Variable response to clopidogrel due to CYP2C19 loss-of-function alleles represents a well-documented risk factor for stent thrombosis and major adverse cardiovascular events. This clinical review evaluates evidence from randomized trials and guideline recommendations for genotype-guided escalation to ticagrelor or prasugrel in contemporary cardiology practice.
